In reliability, the relative importance of a particular component or group of components can be assessed using importance measures. Importance measures are quantitative measures that rank components according to their importance. In the scientific literature, different importance measures have been proposed based on different interpretations of the concept of the most important component in a system. These measures can be determined based on the structure, reliability, or lifetime distribution of components in a system. The purpose of this paper is to study the different importance measures of components in a system from a reliability perspective.
