Abstract
The present article is a translation of an article in the journal Significance[1], Series 17, Issue 4, 2020, entitled "The Century of C.R. Rao[2]", which was prepared with the participation of Bradley Efron, Shun-Ichi Amari, Donald B. Rubin, Arnie S. R. Srinivasa Rao, and David R. Cox. Therefore, this article cannot be called an article. Rather, it is a translation prepared to pay tribute to a century of Professor Rao's activity so that Persian speakers who are somehow related to statistics will be aware of the valuable role of this professor in statistics. Of course, people who have completed an undergraduate course in statistics have memories of at least two famous titles, "Cramer-Rao Inequality" and "Rao-Blackwell Theorem," both of which contain the name "Rao." Therefore, it is not without merit to learn about this great personality from the words of several prominent statistical researchers. Rao's fruitful activities, some of which are mentioned in this article, can serve as a model for people who enter the field of statistics and intend to follow Rao's path in scientific and social life.
