Abstract
In this paper, first the depth function is introduced as a function for center-outward ranking of multivariate points, then we introduce and apply the half-space depth function or Tukey as one of the most famous depth functions. Next, using this ranking and statistics based on the depth versus depth plot, nonparametric multivariate tests for the difference in location and scale between two populations are expressed. Finally, based on these tests, the performance of the proposed non-invasive distraction method for osteoarthritis joint disease is evaluated for pain intensity, quality of life, functional ability, swelling rate and range of motion of patients and is compared with the common invasive distraction method.
