Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine and evaluate the changes in the grade of gold and silver elements using geostatistical methods. This study was conducted in the Qezel-Ozen region of Khalkhal for 95 lithogeochemical samples. First, the censored data were replaced, and then the outliers were identified using boxplots and (Q-Q-Plot) and reduced using the Dorfel method, and finally the data were normalized using logarithmic and trivariate logarithmic transformations. After normalization, geostatistical analysis was used. Variographic studies showed that the spherical model was the best-fitting model and the spatial dependence range for both elements was approximately 2500 meters. Finally, the estimation and variance maps of the Kriging estimation were prepared using the geostatistical point Kriging method with the spherical model in the (GS+) software environment. Evaluation of the results by calculating the root mean square error (RMSE) and mean square error (MAE) indicates the acceptable accuracy of the variogram model. By examining the Kriging estimation maps and the variance of the Kriging estimation, the distribution of gold and silver grades was determined and high grade areas were identified.
