Abstract
In this article, in order to obtain the shortest confidence interval or general confidence interval for quantiles of a normal distribution in the case of a single population, an axial quantity that has an eccentric t-distribution. In the case of two independent normal populations, we will create a confidence interval for the difference of quantiles based on the generalized axial quantity and introduce a simple method for obtaining its percentiles, based on which a shorter confidence interval can be obtained. Also, the performance of the presented methods will be examined using simulation and an applied example.
